SOMETHING GREATER

He slips

out to meet her

at the cafe in their little corner

and is nursing berries in his glass

when she rushes in.

They stoop and burrow

behind the small

talk; kissing back

blue, cutting their red noses

off!

Shame they didn't know

there's something

greater than their own

little bit.
