Something has Changed

I see the park as I walk by

Swings and slides way up high

I can hear the kids screaming

As they run around with eyes gleaming

It sounds familar, something I'd heard before

It shook me to my very core

It seemed like just yesterday I was there

Running around everywhere

Speeding down the slide

Jumping off swings to see how far I'd glide

Running and playing tag with my friends

I can't to remember the end

When the slides lost their appeal

And I didn't jump off of swings with a squeal

It used to be the best

But that part of my life as been put to rest

But I never said that I was done

But I put it away when a new part of my life begun

But at least I kept my friends

Because you never know when things are going to end
