Something to Look Forward to

Roasting in the sun.

Staring at the sky.

Plain. Stiff.

All my life.

I've been sitting here.

Surrounded, yet alone.

Suffocating.

I thought I was surviving on my last breath.

Somehow.

Somewhere.

When one morning the sun decided it would rise.

In a moment there was a hope.

A place where I could go.

To be.

To learn.

To know.

No longer will I drown in open air

And sink so deeply in despair.

I'm holding on.

It keeps me strong.

That light out in the distance.

I'm walking towards it now.

It's keeping me alive

Until the moment it revives me.
