Something Like Love

Growing up we search for an unrequited Love, Something present and palpable, Something we can be a part of. We are all fallible, She made a quick mistake. Now carrying something valuable, She fell to disgrace. Her error made Him ephemeral, She became shunned by several. But when she was purged of this accident, A sweet miracle appeared. The mother became very adamant, To have this child revered. Growing up she searched for a father figure, Someone she could love and trust. But her views of life had been disfigured, For she had been made only from lust. It was hard, She was scarred. But there’s something about a mothers love, Growing inside her womb for two hundred seventy three days, That replaces all her outlandish dreams of, Cinderella stories, And sets them all ablaze. When were older we search for a stable love, Something steady and solid, Something constant.
