something real


I’m hoping after sunrise 

you’ll come back and say you’ve realized 

that the tethered string around your heart is unraveling 

I think that it is fair to say you’re just not all that good for me 

but I keep coming back because what we once had felt so right 

so please 

will you 

take me out of my misery
