Something To Rely On

There is something here I must address
Sometimes my mind is such a mess.
And though you think that'd bring me stress,
I'm doing fine, I must express.

So if you'll give me a moment, I'll take the stage,
And show you despite my very young age,
Instead of keeping my mind locked in a cage,
I scribble my thoughts all over a page.

A plain white sheet, soft and bright
Sometimes even brighter in the middle of the night,
Instead of being so rude and uptight,
I found a way to feel, I found a way to write.

So before I bring this speech to an end,
Poetry is something I must recommend.
If you think it is something you can commend,
Try and make poems, your new best friend.
