Sometimes

I love it when you hold the door open for me.

But sometimes I wanna do it myself.

When we’re together I feel perfect,

But sometimes I feel differently.

It drives me insane when you talk about other girls,

But sometimes it doesn’t.

I like you,

But sometimes I don’t.

I’m in love with our friendship,

But sometimes I want more.

So, where does that leave me?

Where does that leave us?

I know I’ve messed up

By giving you false hope.

And I know it irks you that I don’t know,

But can you blame me?

Before all this we were best friends.

So when did it shift, and why?

It’s so obvious that you’ve fallen,

And the last thing I want to do is hurt you.

But how can I promise you forever

If all I feel is sometimes?

I mean, if it’s mean to be I would just know, right?

Or is it different sometimes?
