The Somnambulist
I am a somnambulist,
sleepwalking through life.
When I look around,
all I see is dreamy darkness.
The darkness never turns miserable,
and no one ever dies.
Death is nothing when I sleepwalk,
I never have to cry.
Perhaps I never wanted to leave that dreamland,
it's more than perfect.
People say to never say never,
but sometimes never is my favorite word.
I never want to leave,
I never feel alone,
and I never want to wake up.
But sometimes hopes weigh as much as wishes.
Eventually I come to a stop,
eventually I have to fall,
eventually I trip over something,
And all my dreams are torn away.
