Song of Our Souls

As I lie awake, deep in thoughts of this crazy life,

a harmonic voice whispers my name.

Angelic melodies I've heard before.

Beautiful songs I thought I'd never hear again.

Two tattered souls calling one another.

Missing each other, maybe only by a split second.

Caught in the web of this hectic life.

These two souls may just be damned.

My wounded soul craves you like an alcoholic,

you're my shot of top shelf whiskey.

Warming every bit of my entire being,

and from this heat I'll never be free.

Will fates plan keep us together?

Or were we doomed from the very start?

Teased with a glimpse of what could never be,

because we're both afraid to open our hearts.
