The Song of the Sea

Deep under the sea

where you can hear

the gray whales singing

I find peace in

the gentle tossing

of the ocean current--

Anemones sway

A lazy clownfish floats by

I only smile as it drifts slowly off

A squid darts past,

its destination unknown

Two lobsters scuttle nearby

after an unlucky shrimp

My hair sweeps around me

as I scan my surroundings,

slowly admiring this water’s flawless rapture

The enchanting song of the sea

holds me captive

I am its prisoner

yet I feel free

I feel no danger

only love

love from the ocean,

letting it push me gently on my way

I am a slave to its song:

The song of the sea
