The Song of Solitude

A snowy night, the ground laden with frost

A frozen path which many have crossed

I sat outside in the freezing bitter cold

That bit at my nerves and froze at my soul

The air was silent, save my sound of my breathing

I took many deep breaths, my chest heaving

I was alone- or so it seemed

The blue moon was redeemed

I sat down in a snowy crook

And gave the night sky one last look

This is my song, my lullaby

I say to the silence, and utter my goodbye
