Songbird
You flew in broken and sick,
But you still sang your song.
Colors bright,
Fading slowly with time.
I watch you try to fly,
But down you fall again.
No promises for the future,
But on you sing.
We try to fix you,
But we don’t know how.
Your little bird calls for you,
But no more can you fly.
Sing songbird,
For this is your last song I will hear.
Spread your wings and fly,
Never again will you sing for me.
Goodbye beautiful songbird,
I will miss your song.
Spread your wings now songbird,
And go someplace other than here.
Let someone else,
Listen to your song.
Dear songbird,
Farewell.
