Songs of the Forest

I have heard the loud songs of the forest

I have heard the quiet whispers of it’s winds

I have heard the sweet sounds of it’s birds

I have heard the desperate howls of the lone coyote

In the night the wolves battle with the sounds that drown them out

The moon looks over it all

A silent but bright master

The worlds watcher

The nights guard soaring overhead

The morning dew on the ground

It shines in the dawn sun

The creatures awake to begin a new day

The sounds of the world awake

It fills the new air of a new day

The deer raise up

The birds spread their wings

The foxes yawn

The forest awakes for the day ahead

Then the sun fades over the horizon

The moon take back it’s place in the sky

Its watchful guard taken up again

The foxes quiet for their slumber

The birds nestle again in for a sleep

The wolves warm up their voices

The coyotes scamper and search for a midnight meal

And the forest is wide awake during the hours of sleep
