Songs of the Somber

If I could only drown myself in music, And let the sound waves carry me away To a better place where the drummer's rhythm never ceases, Harmonies whistle through the winds. A place where no words are spoken. Where we all speak the universal language of music. Only there can earthly misery transform into beauty, Lyrics fluttering on butterfly wings. Only there can a river of tears sparkle With joy and pain, as they entangle as one. All the while, a dark chord resonates.
