Sonnet

Sitting all alone in a dark corner Nobody to hear the loud screams of pain Shrouded in black like a depressed mourner Looking ahead with eyes filled with disdain The shadows crawl and reach across the floor Pulling her into the dreary unknown Trying to take her and make her no more With shrill shrieks sinking deep into her bones But in the distance shines a dull white light To guide the way and get her through the fear Slowly the light grows and looks near and bright The sweet song of faith she begins to hear Until finally she's free from the room No more waiting for the impending doom
