Sonnet 1

Are there any short-cuts out of life's maze?

Perhaps a hiding place to recover,

From life's on going setbacks and delays.

Everyone is fake and undercover.

With that how can one really be trusted?

When friendships are like hallucinations.

Heavenly spirits must be disgusted.

They aren't fooled by our mortal impressions.

Will any of us ever be worthy?

To be let into the gates of Heaven.

Is it too late to be shown your mercy?

A sign would be a life-changing leaven.

I feared what the sign from above might be

And then the God-sent squirrel winked at me.
