Sonnet 155

My love, her presence shinés like a light;

When people look at her face they smile;

Her eyes twinkle like the stars in the night;

She is like a lily of the Nile,

But like all flowers, she withered away.

The light in my life stolen by darkness,

Brightness faded into dark everyday;

By the cut on me from the knife’s sharpness.

Consumed by the night I watchéd in fear;

The only thing left for me is my death,

The end of my life and mind has come near;

Sitting and waiting for my final breath.

When, by chance, a light came into my mind

Causing the whole world and I to go blind.
