Sonnet

The Right Response

The words we say

To reach attention of another

It’s just a friendly way

That we would greet a brother

The present of affection

Is one we give to those

Who are in need of a connection

Whether they be friends or foes

It’s time to lend a hand

Reach out beyond

And take your chance to stand

Come out of the quiet and respond

If there is someone on your mind

It costs nothing to be kind
