A Sonnet of Life
All that I require within my life
Is promise of a coming tomorrow,
Something that can combat all the sorrow.
Because without hope, there is only strife.
As a groom, who, mid-vow, left his dear wife,
I would be in need of life seeds to sow.
If only hope could be lent and borrowed.
Life is not so, and it cuts like a knife.
All I need more than hope is a reason,
A paradox held within my heart,
Without this entity, I'd be quite dull.
It is here no matter time or season,
Both the promise of strength and one of art,
Before life's hope, I live for the struggle.
