Sonnet in a Slumber

I found myself dozing off into sleep

As a song was entwined within my mind

A sweet serendipity filled my head

Daydream colliding with the gentle tune

Some faint lyrics echoed throughout my skull

Muscles beating to the beat of the drums

Colors flashing in my eyelids nonstop

It appeared like the colors of the wind

It was like watching strokes of paint in art

With a fine mellow harmony playing

It all felt too surreal for a dream

A slumber I was but pleased to vacate

If only it would last eternity

Unknowingly all but a simple dream
