A Sonnet for the Washingtonian Sunset

A melting pot of golden rays

spreads across the varying

hues- like a multicolored field of haze-

of the Washingtonian sunset sky.  Scattering

and refracting in the atmosphere

to bless our eyes with a

splendid beauty that draws a tear

through a look at the

horizon, rimmed by Cascade mountains

reaching towards clouds grazing

upon the field of elation

and spontaneity- so amazing.

The single drop of ambrosia

disappears with smooth, surreptitious motion.
