A Son's Prayer

Thank you, Lord, for giving me a mother

Who has loved me like no other.

She took care of me when I was young,

And taught me to hold my tongue.

She puts my needs before her own,

And will even when I am grown.

For even with an empty nest,

My mother will be the best.

She taught me to follow You,

And worship You in all I do.

Faithfully has she served You,

And taken care of me, too.

And so, Lord, I pray that You will

Bless her until her hands You fill.

And when she goes home, Lord,

I pray that she will be adored.

I pray this to You, Lord, and no other,

Because I love my mother.
