To Soothe A Sick Soul
The night she had gone, I sat and I wrote
Fresh in my mind, the memories spoke
Evil, it lives in that volatile word
Cancer, too soon for an innocent girl
I wrote of the nights spent under the stars
Of the chocolate, the dancing, and of course that red car
My very own time capsules, not just words on a page
I'd never forget, stories never do fade
And when reality settles, and heartbreak engulfs
I'll look back to my writing for comfort, for hope
To picture a world where best friends stay
Where life without illness is seen everyday
To bring back the light of her laugh and her smile
To soothe a sick soul, for even just awhile
