i wonder if you still listen to that song from time to time

or if i ever cross your mind

its an amazing song, i still love it to this day

but it will always be the song for that point in my life,

the chapter of you.

i know that it’s over,

you no longer see me in your dreams,

when they were supposed to be forever.

at the time, it didn’t cross my mind

that we could end in a blink of an eye

what happened?

somewhere we went wrong

we clashed, familiar drama,

guess these things don’t last.

you taught me what it felt like to smile for no reason.

how to love someone and

still care for them even after they broke your heart.

we had a future, or so i thought.

i’m not sure about most things, but i was so sure of you.

you wanted to get to know me before anything

we took it slow, you were respectful too.

we weren’t together, but we were on our way

you are my ex-maybe, my ex-almost.

i can’t deny what we were feeling inside, its something neither of us could hide.

you said i was like your angel from up above

but we were just two fools experiencing first love.

i used to wish you were still mine.

i used to wish to be in your arms again.

i used to wish i could stop the world.

i realized the universe wanted it to end.

it’s a past i dont regret, but it’s one that i gotta leave behind.

i’ll never forget.

maybe it wasn’t supposed to be forever,

now i’m on a different chapter, with new beautiful songs.

i’m living for this moment.

but that song, along with the others, will always take me back from time to time.

so here’s to you,

my sweet valentine

Hello all. I'm 19 years old. I come from a mixed background which I take immense pride in, Native American (Hunkpapa Lakota from the Standing Rock Sioux nation) and Mexican. I consider myself a poet and photographer, but I've dabbled into film making, which I plan on making tons of movies in the future.
