Sorrow

Music begins to fill my head
I reach for the first note-
Then a chill.
A day thought to be good goes numb-
Similar to the dreary winter days that hang over me...
Shock
Confusion
Pain!
My life forever changed;
Wishing to turn back time if only to
Prevent that dreaded early hour.

Why’d you do it? To prove a point? Or just crush your family?

The initial shock will forever hurt them! Is THAT what you wanted?

I reach out seeking, something.
Help!
A little comfort
Or understanding, but it eludes me.
I retreat behind my faithful mask of false exhaustion-

Hope floods in, maybe the true friends will come,
Then disappointment when only one shows.

More pain-

But life goes on
A chilly day turned black with sorrow stays
Forever in my head, strengthening me;
But haunting me...
