Sorrow

Have you ever cradled a man

Not in romance, but in empathy?

Lay his head upon your collar

And feel the salty current cascade down your chest.
Have you ever watched sorrow take figure as flesh?

Trailing behind each step.

Coating his voice.

Anchored in his presence.

Have you ever witnessed an existence starve

With food lingering in frail hand?

The silver lining visible

Though rain conquers his vision.

As his mourning meets daybreak, the demons embark

As my every muscle rends him from the dark.

Brother, surrender from sorrow.
