Sorrow

Night was pitch as coal, The moon glistened through the clouds. Only a pale glow Lit the path throughout the shrouds. Dark clouds embraced sky. No man stirred before the storm. The wind made leaves fly He walks onwards to her dorm. He is hers always And would remain by her side No matter the pay. She was his forbidden bride. The setting was set He wears a forgotten face. Heart deep with regret, Nothing will hinder his pace. As storm's fury stir He keeps marching to the spot Where he last saw her. He would abandon her not. His mind filled with woe He kneels by the broken stone Which she lays below. Embraced by the old oak's throne. His love, sweet dear. He recalled her lovely voice. Pain replaced his fears. He would never again rejoice. Out of his case He drew the portrait of her. Tears fell on her face As he tried to remember. He took a pure rose Placed it on her earthly bed He grabbed gun he chose And he placed it on his head. Tears filled his eyes "I'm sorry" his eyes he shield Thunder filled the skys And red rain coved the field. The portrait took flight. The rose spotted with the rain. Glistening in the moonlight The heavens wept for his pain.
