Sorrow's Name
Dear Sorrow,
Numbness.
Sensations long past.
Emotions no hindrance.
The mind ne'er relaxed.
The body in a trance.
Guilt.
Pulsing underneath.
Always part of the mind.
Behind every thought, every action,
A tinted view of a world designed.
Pain.
Heart breaking, wrenching, twisting,
Uncontrollable yet manageable.
Echoing heartbeats throughout the body,
Peace unobtainable.
Tightness.
No tears, no fears.
Choking on unimaginable grief.
No cries, no sounds.
Heart gone, a fallen leaf.
Endless.
Forever alone to this grief;
A sole carrier of thoughts.
Memories taken and closed,
A journal of salty blots.
Dread.
Afraid to let go.
Fear of memories lost.
a touch, a scent, a vision gone,
unreachable by any cost.
Weariness.
Unable to slumber, unable to wake.
Sleep the only escape.
Too quick to get a break.
Burdens too heavy to shake.
Hope.
A recurring theme.
A light emitted in dream.
A flame with luxurious gleam.
Small, a gentle stream.
Cycle.
An unending dream,
But a dream nevertheless.
An awakening beam
In a days journeys countless.
Question.
Miscellaneous names.
What do you like to be called?
Not one will shoulder blame,
So how many will be at fault?
Sincerely,
Eunice Hong
