Sorry

I don't like swearing even though I'm surrounded by it 24/7, and I make it a priority not to swear because it's important to me to be faithful to God. I make up swear words as well such as "holy couch potatoes". It's kind of embarrassing but at least it makes me feel a little less of the negative emotion I'm feeling. But for this poem, it was a time when I accidentally swore, and I instantly felt guilty about it.

I’m sorry God

I must confess,

I tried so hard,

I did my best;

Can you just close

My mouth right now?

‘Cause for what I did,

I don’t know how;

What I said just now

Was a tragedy,

I’m sorry Lord

How can this be?

I have been writing poetry for 5 years now and I have a collection of over 600 original poems I've made. I submitted a poem to Appelley Publishing and was published in the 2018 addition of their poetry book. I love to read and write, and I have a cat and a hamster.
