Sorry and Thank You
Dear peers and mentors,
I'm scared.
The more I know about myself, the more inferior I feel.
I'm scared.
The more pressure I feel, the faster I hide.
I'm scared.
When life throws me a curve ball, I become frozen.
I'm scared.
The more expectation, the more pressure I feel.
I'm scared.
The more I learn about the world, the scarier it seems.
I'm scared.
But I know nothing will change if I feel inferior, hide as fast as I can, and stay frozen.
Although I am scared of pressure, I am more scared of losing myself.
Although I am scared of the unexpected, I am more scared of losing myself.
Today, I couldn't write my personal statement.
I made excuse.
I distracted myself.
I play myself for a fool; believing tomorrow will be better.
On my endeavor to escape my fear, I have numb myself of who I am.
I have lost myself in my inferiority.
I have lost myself due to the pressure.
I have lost myself to the changes in the world.
I have lost this opportunity to write my personal statement
but
have realized what I have lost and what I need to find; true self.
Sorry to all the mentors who took the time to help my peers and me on our personal statement.
Thank for giving me the opportunity to face myself and to learn a little bit more about myself.
Sincerely,
Hang Sian, Thang
