Your words dripped one by one Into my hidden heart, Telling me I’m hated, Telling me I’m unnatural. And I know I deserve it, That I'm not what you wanted to see, Not what you wanted me to be, Not what I can be, Not the me that isn't me this is the me you want me to be. I can't help where my heart is, I can't stand that you cried And you saw me through new eyes, Those eyes filled with prejudice, Those eyes filled with hate, But I'm still the same person You met at that gate. Planting love for your demons, Making me wonder why you loved demons, But you couldn't love me. And your face was swollen from crying, While my soul burned with lies, Consuming my image, In that lovely blue flame, And I know you can't bear to say my name Anymore Because the night is full of shadows And you don't know which are your friends Reaching out to help or to harm Do you even know anymore? I was left abandoned, Bleeding and broken I can't help but to feel empty Like my life was stolen away That one gaze all I needed to know That the world had somehow changed And your sweet eyes became clouded While my lies had come clean. It’s no wonder why you call me demon. My hands stained with the blood of my heritage, My head adorned with this crown of flames, I'm your worst nightmare, Your own trembling fists are Fighting my shadow, But only my shadow. Did you know it's not me? Did you know I’m right here, Not down the trenches, Not burned in the earth, Not dammed with the devil, Lost deep in a crypt Can’t you tell how much this hurts? Look into my eyes, Tell me you see the ocean, Tell me you can breathe the sky, Tell me tell me you can reach the bottom Of my burning soul, Tell me you know I won't hurt you, Trust me enough to promise that. Tell me what you see! Give me you bruised lips, Let them whisper my prayers, Because God doesn't want to hear From someone like me anymore. Give me a life that's worth something, Give me a tear that's worth shedding, A song that's worth singing, A sword that's worth drawing, For the cause that has somehow gotten lost, Or maybe the reasons have just changed because of You In my life. Please grant me your forgiveness, Let it come from a star so far away it's already blown across a galaxy, Paving a new way for thinking, And drifting away… Like the tears That were shed for each lie Dropping down on my flames To quench their hate, Their fear, Their pain. And I'm still the same person, You met at that gate. The sky is still open, Reflecting my eyes, As my breath slows, And my eyes close, And only God knows, How much I miss You. Tell me you can't kiss my finger tips And only taste ashes Because my identity has been Burned away By those flames of blue sorrow That burn out of control, Beneath the mask of my laughter. Did you know that my heart beat the boy who Called me a Demon So he wouldn't see me Cry. And the world screams of Demons But forgets about love. And I couldn't stop lying Because of your eyes, Those eyes filled with Laughter Those eyes filled with Light And absent with hate. I am still the same person, You met at that gate. Just know that I'm sorry. And give me One Last Chance.
