Soul Purpose

The eye of Heaven never did shine more brightly than the cascade of rain did

That night

Though bits and pieces fell from the sky,

I swear that I saw Heaven...

To mind the matter, done so subtly

Your presence, made note of;

Time meshes, ticks supply

Embrace the sensation not in part, but wholly

Barred none it's the best place I've been:

Sunshine provides long days of light

Stellar brothers and sisters illuminate the night

Never caught in the vice of a bitter winter's bite;

Always good for a midnight swim

Like whispering aloud,

Not sinking in, but out;

Perfectly imperfect, shamefully proud

Lifelong dreams fulfilled by a whim

Severed by the horizon

Predictable in essence

One can whine, weep, and wallow,

Or paint a promising present

Drowning in hindsight, regret and resentment;

Now tell me what it's like to live

Many paths could have been taken, with unknown outcomes;

"Should have..." is mistaken,

For the current person would be misshapen

A priceless parcel to jettison

No need for material

All essentials rest at heart

"What you'll find at the finish line is a new place to start,"

This mind once told me, beautiful, patient, and smart;

Life and love are the best gifts given.
