Soul Searching
The death of family, friends
Held me captive and let my soul plummet,
Like a baby bird falling out of the nest.
No chance of security.
My wings had been clipped,
Permanently damaged
What purpose did this Earth serve me
Without the ones I loved?
My soul snuck into darkness.
No more hope
Soul faded
Body empty
There was no chance escaping my head
Thoughts run wild
Brain never sleeping.
Imagination would consume me,
like helpless prey.
I was nothing
Just another body roaming
Motions upon motions
Nothing more
I was nothing.
A stranger
Not only to myself
But an alien to those who knew me
Saved
A soft kiss from mother nature
Brought me back to life
I found myself in nature
In the swaying of leaves,
The painting of sunsets,
Provided me a purpose.
Life flourishes in front of me
Life ran through my blood
My soul laid in wild fields of flowers.
Soul searching
Came to me
The most unexpected of times
Brought me back to life
