Soul Speak

This was exactly what I needed to read
That letter from three years ago planted a seed
Now I’m free
Because just one person believed
I never could’ve dreamed
To be redeemed
Thankfully
You encouraged me

All feedback graciously given, so sincerely shared
Either 3 days, 3 months, or 3 years down the road
Recipients of my random notes
Crafted after focus stolen
Heart suddenly jolted
Scribbles quickly jotted
Edges neatly folded
Ready to be slyly given to someone I felt needed positivity spoken
We’re all a little broken
Yet our cracks open knacks
Niches within the system
To help patch each other up with the gifts we’ve be given
Once I discovered that there’s healing at the point of my pen
My spirit cannot ignore or forget
What love I can accomplish when it’s stirred within
To put ink to paper
With a heap of vulnerability sprinkled in

I’m inspired by the impact a single tiny card can pack
For if it’s made with love then there’s no lack
In its potential to turn a day around
Allowing someone to sleep sound
Reconnecting with holy ground

I’ve seen the way creativity
When directed via divinity
Can cause the leaves of the trees to sing
Touched souls and emotional eyes gleam

What other option do I have than to continue living with my writer’s heart on my sleeve
Knowing the joy these small handwritten tokens can bring
Hope to our broken humanity
What if we all acted when our tummies jumped on intuition
Neck hairs raised in anticipation
Our craft begging to be let out
Do you not hear the shout?

I’m inspired by the connection that’s made when we make way for what our soul craves
It saves
To connect
To portray
To pray
For more days to express and relate
Just what our inside voice is urging for us to create
There’s no debate that art makes waves
