SOUL STAR

In the waning warmth of a life grown cold, When the daggers of fate strike sharp and bold. With nowhere to hide and no song to cry, Beneath the weight of a piercing sky. We met like kin from a different mother, Two souls in a cradle, bound to each other. You are the stars, in a shimmering dance, While I am the velvet, the midnight expanse. I was the dark, forgotten and vast, Fading away as the shadows were cast. But your light found the pieces I’d long ago shattered, And in your reflection, I finally mattered. For though I am silence and you are the spark, The stars cannot shine without home in the dark. Together we’re woven, the night and the glow, One cannot wander where the other won't go.
