To the soul that was once broken

I apologize for giving your time to people who didn’t deserve you
I apologize for committing to someone who refused to learn you
I apologize for keeping ties to someone who didn’t fight to earn you
You see, I know better now..

I know to always consider if I’m ever giving too much more than Im receiving
I know some words, some looks, some people can be deceiving
Some questions are better left unanswered than sugar coded to be misleading
And what good is compromising with a soul if it’s not mine that it’s completing
