Soulmates
What a symphony Apollo orchestrated
upon quivering heartstrings, a soulful
yearning exaggerated by enchantment.
An arrow notched not once but twice,
its path defined by chord threaded
through the gouges in our chests;
it sutured festered flesh, stitching us
at the seam, and so we were ensnared,
and so I was lost in you -
as was Fate’s design.
