Souls and HOpe

(poems go here) Dreams deferred, Power is absurd How crazy it must seem to chase a means To find a route seldom travelled by peers See, I’m a dreamer by nature, for dreams I am a feign Very few can relate to my mind so many steer clear Have you ever been put down for trying? Crushed for the dreams you’re sharing? Sue me for going after what I believe in instead of dying And caring About attention from the lost souls It is something I don’t need. See, following your dreams, is a means to an end If writing clears my mind and purifies my soul Who are you to judge me? Now, I follow my dreams By any means necessary I have to prove to the children of the world that hard work and dedication brings about results And even if you aren’t famous and rich you can make it to the top as long as you start They’ll throw things at you, your wounds will be drenched in salt But, why do I write? It clears my mind and purifies my soul It gives me hope to get set those goals of things not in site Don’t live where the sun doesn’t shine in a hole I write because I have hope and dreams, I can only assume your reasons are near or the same
