Soul's First Kiss

Souls First Kiss

What didst thou say to me

when I was in the womb

that struck such favor with my soul?

How was't that brambles

could not choke a single chord

so golden throated?

How was't that this hardened plane

accepted that soft seed with a mother's embrace?

How was't that the crushing discourse

could not drowned out a

single note so sweetly sung?

Oh Lover so sweet, how was't that you voiced

a voice higher than tones to this tone deaf soul

and bid it hear the sweet sympony so

softly fingered upon the harp?
