The Sound From Within

The Sound From Within...

Pushes me

Not over the bridge

Or towards the running waters

But to the charcoal imprinted words

The words

Are stained with every tear

The story

My voice is unwilling to tell

The letters

Do not intertwine

The phrases

Do not mingle or overwhelm

The words

Are cut throat

The story

Is purely true

Letters, words, and stories

Are not my art

Or a passing of time

It is the only voice I have left.
