Sound/Feelings

Some times I feel lost in the midst of my minds darkest corners. In the darkness you can hear the cogs turning and grinding to an unnerving rhythm. Steel against steel, A chalkboard scream, And a single rain drop. These three sounds continuously eating at my concious thoughts, never subsiding. Not even in the midst of friends. The steel grinds and clicks as if a knife is being sharpened for sinister forces The screaming emits as if a child lost in his last after school lesson had gouged away the remenence of his mistake. But the worst sound seams to be the smallest. The single drop entering a lost pool where a single seed cannot find its roots to the water. It all seems to echo off the banks of my skull. Reverberating in an ominous growl, a horn of terror if you will. Yet one sound belittles them all, the wind Blowing away all remnants of the previous three. Taking the form of a voice powerful yet kind. Howling and roaring. The wind sweeps away all cares and corrodes fear to a speck. The wind kills pain and penitrates the minds darkest corners. Although a light may never fill them, a sound resides to carry me away.

This is something I wrote in high-school 6 years ago. I have never learned the structure of poetry or how to lay things out in general. Any feedback positive or negative dealing with the structure grammar or ideas within the text are very welcomed.
