Soundless Words

I sit in my seat day after day

Listen to your soundless words

I wish I could go out and play

Instead of sitting listening to silence.

What was that again, for I did not hear

I was listening to my classmate snore

I still can't focus on your voice, I am not near

Oops, I did it again.

In the back of my brain

I know this is important

I wish I didn't look upon you in disdain

I can hear my mom screaming at me to pay attention!

Suddenly your words gain sound

My focus becomes clear

I am definitely coming around

Then the bell rings.
