Soundtracks

I’m strung out. The guitar strums a tempo I can’t catch. The ITunes market closed up shop, Leaving me to scrounge through the last batch Of heartfelt music. I feel sick. I run across the bridge, Screaming the words I love! Do you hear the sounds My heart pounds? Or is all the amazement stuck in my head, Too far above grounds? Strap my neck and call me a bass, Open my eyes to face The music. Touching play-touching a needle And placing it on the skin of me- A personal record, recording these lines for life. Just three minutes more And I’ll be mute forever, I’m too stressed to quit today.

I enjoyed this. The ending fit the poem, too. I have read some good poems with awful endings. A bad ending, in my opinion, is important and can make or break the poem. However, you thought of an ending that is not cheesy and it cuts straight to the point. I also enjoyed the "strap my neck and call me a bass," part. To be extremely obnoxious, this poem has swag!

I was mostly compelled to write this because I correct people when they sing the wrong words to songs. Everyone asks 'why does it mean so much to you?' and I suppose because music is another art form that makes people think about words.
