Spare Change

Spare Change, spare change?

Pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, anything

The poor family asks every morning

Holding out their tiny tin can to passers-by

In the same raggedy clothing

They beg by busy street corners

They beg for lack of food

Hoping to get enough to eat

But not enough for their education

They ask everyone but few give in

What if each passer-by could pitch in a dollar?

What if the whole world could help the poor and the homeless?

We would all be millionaires in our own little ways

No man, woman, or child shall have to go begging again
