Spark of stardust

What's in the shadows?
What's in the dark?
What's tucked away,
in infinite thoughts?

What is unspoken?
What is away?
In the mind of
a person,
what don't they say?

Why don't they speak it?
Why do they seem,
to think, to be pensive,
but seldom to share?

I give you the answer,
I hereby do share,
my reasons for silence,
it's not that I don't care.

It's not that I'm afraid,
I passionately speak
when I so choose.
It's not that I'm shy,
although I can be a recluse.

My mind is sharp,
and it is fast,
but with my tongue I do not haste.

My reasons are that silence,
is a better choice than words,
when the thoughts are still forming,
and I can't say no or yes.

That I like to be sure,
what I'm saying is correct.
That I like to think for long,
only just inside my head.

I speak my mind, yet
I take the time
to form my thoughts,
to try and figure the world out.

I know who I am,
and in the dark,
in the shadows,
I am the spark.
