Sparrow's Song

Location

You may be gone, gone past all returning,

But I'll hold you like a candle in my heart.

And I know that this candle will keep burning,

Until my memories have flown apart.

Must the sparrow's song fall meaningless to you?

The tighter that I cling the more I lose.

You've forgotten me, now and ever after,

Your eyes will pass me without recognition.

I forgive you, for your heart like aging plaster,

Must slowly crumble, fall into remission.

Must the sparrow's song fall meaningless to you?

The tighter that I cling the more I lose.

I will keep loving you 'till the day you die,

For your life has changed not ended.

Though watching you I cannot help but sigh,

Wishing that some how you could remember.

Must the sparrow's song fall meaningless to you?

The tighter that I cling, the more I lose.
