Speak Up

The thoughts that hide within the back of the mind

The words we think but not say

Of the people not heard when they speak

Or of the people who don’t speak afraid of being heard or not at all

The words we are afraid to say

The thoughts we question too much

Though they express thoughts and feelings best

They can have so much meaning

Yet none at all

The words we choose not to speak

May be the most important

The ones to save a life

One or two, maybe hundreds

So what stops us from saying

What needs to be said

Words one may say could mean nothing

Or everything all at once

Words we say could be words that hundreds of others couldn’t say

Don’t just wait around for someone to say it

Speak up
