"SPEAK," MY BRAIN.

They told her to speak up

What’s got your tongue?

Are you mute?

Like Mario games, she falls into these pit holes

The girl that’s always quiet had no opinion

What can she say when the trap got her lips?

Alone, her mind raced with so many words to spill

But in public, it’s like she’s mute Ariel

Bossed around and told what to do

She wanted to explode like a fireball

But she feared she’ll be called weird, stupid, crazy

But she just had to know that it was okay

Express yourself, scream, yell, shout

Just Express yourself

Live for yourself and for God

They don't matter

Only the real one's matter

That girl was me

Sitting patiently before her egg cracked

To release her of her mind oppression

It takes time and courage, my friend

She didn’t know she was the one holding herself back

It took her low self-esteem to realize that

Feeling worthless and unwanted

Useless and abandoned

Until there was this little voice in her head

That spake, “You are loved, my child”

Soft, gentle and weight lifting

Free at last

She walked them through the crowd

Head lifted high and with the mindset

“I care about what I think of ME”

“Not what you think of ME”

I am fighting my fear
