I'll hear your voice echo past the curtains

For the faint of heart, only for the sane

And yet I'll stand here beside you and wonder where the years have gone

I can remember the stormy nights on your porch

Laughing as we chased those kitchen dreams

Nothing but our realities chasing their own sons

And yet your voice is still here, ringing through my ears

Laughing and singing and smiling all the same, the focal point of my years

This whole moment is ours, and yours, and mine, and all the same,

It's the worlds

I hear your voice echo past the curtains

Laughing and blazing with the bells of glory

I paint your image in my head, hoping to hear it one more time

Your favorite word, your lips as they'd quiver with the passing of the air through them

But the red button flashes, and my curtains are silent once more
