Speaking My Mind

When I open my mouth,

feelings and moods and tears flow out

but nothing is ever heard.

I choose to stay quiet

the background shading me out

as a blur of unnecessary.

When I write,

my poetry is more meaningful to people

I've never even met.

Maybe because they choose to listen instead of speak

and when they do, they do so with wisdom.
